Yes, I said tomatoes! Woohoo!!! It’s not even Independence Day, and we’ve got tomatoes, people. Billy’s Organic Produce from Tonasket, a mere 13 miles south of the Canandian border on US 97, is back at Madrona Farmers Market, finally, and with them comes their glorious tomatoes.

Billy Alstadt has been at this business of farming up in Tonasket for quite a while, and he has figured out how to harness the sun using greenhouses to extend his season, meaning we get his great organic tomatoes sooner.

Billy’s has many kinds of tomatoes, including these lower-acid yellow ones. They also currently have parsley, basil, arugula, three kinds of sweet bell peppers, and the first blueberries of the season.
